Send a Smile Appeal - 5 cent drive

Friday, November 21, 2014 9:23 AM
Please save up your 5 cent pieces! As part of the Serve & Learn Program, students will be collecting these in the last 5 weeks of Term 4 to purchase items from World Vision to assist people around the World. In previous years, we have purchased mosquito nets, chickens, goats, pigs, water pumps, school supplies, materials for vegie gardens and more! This is a fabulous way to show our children that - Our smallest coin can make a big difference! We would love to raise over $500 this year. Please ask all of your family and friends to collect their 5c coins as well! If every Melrose Child brought in $2 of 5c pieces (only 40 coins!) we would raise over $600… imagine what we could achieve if everyone raised $5!!! Collection tins have been distributed around the school (in every classroom as well as the office) please start collecting TODAY!!

Medications at School

Thursday, October 16, 2014 1:49 PM
A friendly reminder to parents of children who require medication during school hours. Melrose Primary Schools Medication Policy states that any medication required to be administered at school, MUST be bought into the school by an adult, in the original packaging or container, from the pharmacy and clearly labelled with the name of the student, dosage and time to be administered. Parents are also required to sign a Medication Authority Form to give permission to one of our first aid trained staff to administer this medication. We CANNOT accept medication bought in envelopes or foil packaging alone with no identification (this also applies to paracetamol). If your child is on a course of antibiotics, please consider if the medication can be administered outside of the school day, for example medication required three times a day may be able to be taken before school, after school and before bed. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school on 60591955.
