Mosiac Work

Thursday, May 05, 2016 8:22 PM
Since February, a dedicated group of year six students have been learning the ancient art of mosaics.  They have learned to safely use tools to chip, slice pieces which fit and create a picture or design.  Many grade 5 children are keen to begin lunchtime classes.  My stash of speciality tiles is sorely diminished! Offerings of any left overs, especially of small square tiles (those which come in a sheet) would be gratefully received.      Pat Pooley

Welcome back to Term 2! It will be held in Term 3 on Thursday 8th September at the Albury Athletics Track.  Well done to Logan Sandland (shot put and hurdles), James Mulholland (hurdles and  800m), Jordan Piuila-Hogan (discus), Tayla Callaghan (long jump and 800m), Mackenzie Blunden (long jump), Lilly Callaghan (800m), Jay Barker (discus), BJ Grieshaber (800m), Jorja Lewko (long jump, hurdles), Emily Mackenzie (shot put and hurdles).

Year 5/6 Yackandandah Excursion

Friday, April 22, 2016 7:24 PM
Year 5/6 students have the opportunity to attend an excursion to Yackandandah as part of their study of Gold this term. The dates are Monday 6th June and Tuesday 7th June, with half the students attending each day. Students will be participating in a guided tour of Karrs Reef Gold Mine and will also visit the Yackandandah Museum to explore artefacts from the Gold Rush era. They will also explore the town on a walk. The expected cost for this excursion is $30. There are finite numbers permitted to attend the excursion, 60 students only, due to legalities of the mine. Therefore only the first 60 students to return their permission forms and money will be able to attend. Permission forms will be sent home in coming weeks.  This excursion took place in 2014 and was a wonderful educational experience for all involved and we are sure this year will be no exception.
