ROBIN HOOD - CCW PRODUCTION

SENIOR STUDENTS ONLY - On Tuesday 1st August, Catholic College is presenting a special showing of Robin Hood for Primary school students. Melrose senior students will walk from Melrose at 11.45am and return at 1.40pm. Students must be in full school uniform. Permission forms are due back on Monday 31st July.

be having a sibling starting at Melrose in 2018, it is time to
get your enrolment forms into the school office now. If
you do not yet have a copy of the enrolment form,
please see Wendy at the school office. Also remember
that when you are returning your completed form, you
also need to include a copy of your child’s birth and
immunisation certificates.

Foundation 100 days of school

Next Wednesday the 2nd of July we will be celebrating our Foundation students 100th day of school. On this day we will be completing “100” themed activities.

We will be asking students to bring a collection of 100 things with them to school to complete our activities throughout the day. Please ensure that these are not food items or items that will roll around (bouncing balls, marbles etc.)

Borambola Camp Requirements

All students attending Borambola camp will be required to complete a Medical and Consent form. Please complete the form online at: sportandrecreation.nsw.gov.au/facilties/ medicalandconsentform Parents/Carers are welcome to use the school computer lab on Monday July 24th at 3.30pm. Thank you to those students who have fully paid their camp costs. Please remember that the second payment will be due in Week 2 Term 3 (Friday 28th July). Payment Option 2 • Deposit of $50 by Friday 12th May • Payment of $125 by Friday 28th July • Payment of $100 by Friday 4th August

Jeans for Genes Day

This term, Melrose Primary School will be proudly supporting Jeans for Genes day in an effort to discover lifesaving treatments for childhood disease. On Friday the 11th of August we will be having a “Dress in Denim Day” where, for a gold coin donation, students will be invited to wear denim to school to raise awareness for this cause. Melrose Community Fair

On Friday 3rd November, we will be hosting our biannual Melrose Fair. Throughout some of Term 2 and especially Term 3, we will be looking for helpers from our community, to aid in helping to share ideas, putting together hampers, general fair organisation and setting up on fair day.

State School Spectacular

Our fourth and final regional, full day rehearsal will be happening this term, on Tuesday the 1st of August. Just a reminder to families of those students who are going, the first half of your total payment was due to the office late last term. The second instalment is due by Friday the 11th of August.

Please look out for a note that will be sent home this week with additional details about our trip.

Great Melrose Spelling Bee

The annual Great Melrose Spelling Bee will be held on Wednesday the 23rd of November in the MultiPurpose Room. 
Two students from each class (one from each grade level) will be chosen to represent their class. They will be chosen by completing a range of spelling activities that will be happening between now and the day in classrooms. The spelling bee will be comprised of 3 activities, Flashcards, Speed Spell and Individual Spelling.
Parents are invited to attend to watch the spelling bee on the day. The Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 classes will be competing from 9:00am, and the Year 4-Year 6 classes will be participating from 11:45am.

Ten Pin Bowling

Students in Areas 1,2,17 plus A3-Yr 5s will learn the fundamentals of Ten Pin Bowling on Thursdays from 24th November until 15th December, over four weeks. There will be qualified instructors teaching them skills. A1&A17: Leave Melrose: 9.00am   Return: 10.15am A2&A3:  Leave Melrose: 10.00am  Return: 11.15am Students must be in full school uniform. The bus cost will be covered by money paid for Senior sport earlier in the year - unused due to inclement weather.  The Bowling instructions will be free of charge, thanks to Wodonga Ten Pin Bowling.  Please make sure that permission forms are signed and returned to school no later than 20th November.
